A German was kidnapped for 36 hours in Medellín after hiring two women for sexual services near Parque Lleras. The young man had arrived in the city just three days earlier when he was approached by a minor who offered him drugs and later introduced him to the two women. The group went to a house in the Prado Centro neighborhood, where Lino was held against his will while his family in Germany was extorted.
According to Medellín’s Security Secretary, Manuel Villa Mejía, the kidnappers initially demanded €5,000 (about 22.6 million pesos) for his release. The victim’s relatives transferred €3,000 before the suspects made another demand, prompting the German Embassy to alert Colombian authorities. Police rescue units located the house and freed the victim unharmed, though reportedly under the influence of drugs.
Six people were arrested during the operation: three Venezuelan men, two women—one Colombian and one Venezuelan—and a 14-year-old minor. The adults were charged with kidnapping and aggravated theft and sent to prison, while the minor was placed in a juvenile detention center. Authorities believe the group is part of a criminal ring targeting foreign visitors for robbery and extortion.
Following the incident, officials stated they are considering adding the victim to Medellín’s “restricted list” of foreigners who violate local laws, as paying for sexual services in the area has been prohibited since early last year. Lino was medically cleared and returned to Germany earlier this week.
