A French and an American citizen were found dead in Medellín in unrelated cases this week.
Laurent Surville-Goureau, a 59-year-old French national who had recently opened a restaurant in Laureles, was found in critical condition at his home and later died at Clínica Medellín Occidente due to an apparent intoxication. Authorities are investigating the cause.
In a separate case, Jon Eugene Derhammer, a 36-year-old American, was discovered dead in his apartment in Belén. Medications were found at the scene, and his death is not being treated as suspicious.
These incidents bring the total number of foreign deaths in Medellín this week to five, with no cases confirmed as homicides.
