On the afternoon of Wednesday, April 30, hotel staff at Black Sheep Hostel in El Poblado discovered the body of a foreign guest who had not responded to repeated calls or knocks. The victim, identified as Michael Chance Copeland, was found face down on the floor of his room with no signs of life.
Emergency services were immediately contacted, and preliminary reports indicate there were no visible signs of violence. Hotel employees declined to give details, stating only that they had experienced “a very difficult situation.”
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of death.
This marks the 16th non-Venezuelan foreigner found dead in Medellín so far in 2025 — a troubling statistic that continues to raise alarm.
