A theft complaint in Medellín led to the arrest of two men—one Colombian and one with dual U.S.-Canadian nationality—on charges of sexually exploiting minors.

The case began when the men reported that two young women had stolen three high-end cell phones and credit cards, valued at around 7.3 million pesos, from a lodging in Laureles. Police tracked the suspects using security cameras and discovered that the women were 14 and 17 years old.

Upon questioning, the minors revealed that the men had contacted them through social media and offered up to 500,000 pesos each in exchange for sexual services. The men, initially complainants, were subsequently detained for child sexual exploitation.

Authorities have opened a judicial process against both suspects.
