An American tourist, Travis Lee Collette, 34, was found dead and naked on a hotel bed in Medellín’s El Poblado neighborhood on Thursday afternoon.
Collette had checked in the night before with two women, who were later seen leaving alone around 1 a.m. Concerned relatives contacted the hotel after losing contact with him. Staff entered the room 14 hours later and found his body.
There were no visible signs of violence. Authorities are investigating the cause of death and working to identify the two women. Collette is the 18th foreigner to die in the Aburrá Valley this year.
