Colombian migration authorities, working with German officials and Interpol, expelled a German citizen who was wanted under a Red Notice and accused of committing dozens of serious crimes.
The fugitive, who had been on the run since August, was located in Colombia and deported to Germany, where he must answer for crimes dating back to September 2009. According to German judicial authorities, his criminal record includes 47 counts of attempted murder, 13 counts of serious bodily harm, and one charge of aggravated arson attempt.
The individual in question is a 34-year-old man who, in September 2009, carried out an amok attack with an axe, knives, and Molotov cocktails at a school in Ansbach (Bavaria).
Gloria Esperanza Arriero, Director General of Migración Colombia, said the operation was possible thanks to close coordination between Colombian security agencies, German authorities, and Interpol.
Following his capture, the man was immediately handed over to a delegation of German and Interpol officials to begin his repatriation process and ensure he faces trial in Germany.
